Profile

Phil Whitticase was a right-handed batsman and a wicketkeeper who played for Leicestershire from 1984-1995. During his 11-year career at Grace Road, he claimed 323 first-class victims – a feat that put him in the eighth position in the all-time list of Leicestershire wicketkeepers.

Whitticase was also a handy middle-order batsman. He scored 3,113 first-class runs that included a century. He then took up coaching and was named head coach from the 2001 season. In 2003, he was named Academy Director and continued to perform those duties when Tim Boon was named Senior Coach in 2006. Whitticase was appointed Senior Coach at the Club in 2011, whilst continuing with the running of the Academy.
