Profile

A left-arm orthodox spinner, Iqbal Abdulla attracted public attention when he ran through Haryana's batting line-up with a five-for in a Twenty20 game. He has represented Mumbai in the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy season and has been a regular in the side. He was included in the Indian Under-19 team for a Tri-series in Sri Lanka where he went on to become the third highest wicket-taker. Abdulla was also a part of the 2008 U-19 World Cup in Malaysia and his 10 wickets played a vital part in the World Cup victory. He is also a useful batsman lower down the order.

After playing few matches for the Kolkata in the first two editions of the Indian T20 league, Iqbal proved his mettle in the third season. He was signed once again for the fourth season in 2011. A thinking bowler, a good lower-order batsman and a very sharp fielder make him a good team player. Looking at these qualities, Rajasthan bought him for Rs. 65 lakhs in the 2014 season.
