An opener by trait, the stocky Alex Kemp made his way into the Queensland squad on the backing of strong performances in XXXX Gold Premier Grade for Redland. He also had a successful sting in England where he played for Bexley in the Kent Premier League, scoring 672 runs at an astounding average of 55.92. He first played for Queensland in the 2011-12 season but is yet to cement his place in the squad. He was awarded his first full contract during the 2013-14 season and was also picked for the Brisbane Heat squad for the Champions League T20 for which they qualified after winning the Big Bash in 2012-13. Apart from playing cricket, Kemp is also a personal trainer.
