A fairly young batsman who made his debut for English county side Somerset in the 2011 season, Alex Barrow's career seems to be growing in leaps and bounds. He has represented the youth side for the clubs from the U11 to the U17 level. He has also played in the England U19 side that played an ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka. Here he scored an impressive half century on debut to help his side win the first match of the series and featured in the remaining matches as well which ended with two wins a piece since one game was a wash-out.

In the 2010 season, Barrow had to undergo a shoulder surgery but he recovered quickly from this to come back strongly for the 2011 season which saw him score heavily. His debut for Somerset came in a win against Hampshire.
