Youngest captains in ODIs
Dinesh Chandimal became Sri Lanka's youngest ever ODI captain, at 23 years and 244 days on 20 July 2013 at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium, after being handed the reins for the first two matches against South Africa in Colombo.
Regular captain Angelo Mathews was unavailable after earning a two-match suspension for an over-rate offence in the West Indies tri-nation series.
Arjuna Ranatunga, who was 24 years and 333 days old, when he led Sri Lanka against India in an ODI at Dhaka, on 29 October 1988, held the record for his country previously.
