Sachin Tendulkar was just 17 years and 112 days old when he scored his maiden Test century against England at Old Trafford, Manchester on August 14, 1990.
Tendulkar couldn't have found a better time to score his first Test ton as India looked to be headed towards defeat; but Tendulkar and Manoj Prabhakar batted through the last two-and-a-half hours and denied England a win with their unbroken 160-runs partnership for the seventh wicket.
At the time, Tendulkar was the second youngest player to score a maiden Test century. He is now the third-youngest to do so, behind Mohammad Ashraful of Bangladesh and Pakistan's Mushtaq Mohammad. [TAG: CYCSPL]
