The Amazing World of the Deep Sea
Shot in nine different locales, including the Sea of Cortez, and The Channel Islands, the IMAX® film 'Deep Sea' transports audiences to a myriad locations around the globe deep below the vast ocean — one of the least explored areas on earth — to witness the rare and unusual creatures that call the ocean home. Here, these ocean-dwelling inhabitants display their peculiar and amazing behaviours and show their reliance on one another for survival.
'Deep Sea' is directed by world-renowned underwater cinematographer, Howard Hall, produced by Toni Myers and Michele Hall, executive produced by Graeme Ferguson and narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet with an original score by Danny Elfman. In June 2009, at the Mugar Omni Theater’s 180-degree IMAX® domedscreen at the Museum of Science, Boston, viewers were surrounded with a complete underwater experience, bringing them face-to-face with a colorful cast of characters from the fearsome Humboldt squid to the unusual wolf eel and the graceful manta ray.
One of the world’s largest science centers, the Museum of Science, Boston takes a hands-on approach to science and technology, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually with its vibrant programs and over 700 interactive exhibits.
