South Africa’s ‘Mr Safe Hands’
A freak but serious eye injury forced him to call it a day in July 2012; but Mark Verdon Boucher, born on 3 December 1976 in East London, Cape Province; has his place assured in history as South Africa’s greatest wicket keeper-batsman as well as the holding the record for the most dismissals in Test cricket (555).
