Mohammad Asif: The Pakistani fast bowler tested positive for nandrolone during the IPL's inaugural season and was subsequently banned for a year from playing in the Twenty20 league.

Shortly before the IPL's announcement, Asif was released of his contract by the Delhi Daredevils.

On 16 October 2006, Asif was suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board, along with Shoaib Akhtar after the pair tested positive for performance-enhancing substance nandrolone; and the pair was withdrawn from the 2006 Champions Trophy.

The PCB banned Asif from professional cricket for one year on 1 November 2006, but the tearaway pacer was cleared on appeal in December 2006. less
