Dravid made his Test debut for India at Lord’s, the home of cricket, on June 20th 1996. Dravid made 95 runs while the other debutant Sourav Ganguly went on to score a century. Both the youngsters got a chance to play in the Test because Navjot Sidhu had returned back to India (following a tiff with captain Azharuddin) and Sanjay Manjrekar was not fit.
