Three of the six most expensive last overs in IPL belong to Pune’s Ashok Dinda. With his Pune shocker in the first match against Mumbai Indians, he overtook David Hussey’s 27-run fiasco against Mumbai Indians in the 2013 season.
Jharkhand pacer Rahul Shukla had also conceded 27 runs in the final over of a group fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2014 edition.
Dinda twice gave away 26 runs in the last over. The first one was in the 2011 season against Pune Warriors while the other occasion came against RCB in the 2013 edition. Bangladesh seamer Mashrafe Mortaza, who had recently announced his retirement from T20Is, also conceded 26 runs against Deccan Chargers in 2009 when the IPL was held in South Africa.
Here’s the table listing the worst final overs in IPL history.
