Zubiri-Pimentel tiff worsens

Is Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri cheating once again?

Re-electionist Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel  III said his bitter rival is "cheating" once again with lies he has been telling the people in his campaign across the country.

In an interview, Pimentel challenged Zubiri to explain how he would deliver on his campaign promise to provide free universal healthcare to every Filipino.

“He should explain to the entire Philippines his advertisement about free health care. Yung panloloko at pandaraya ay isang uri ng pandaraya. Over-promising kasi,” Pimentel said.

“He should answer the infomercial instead of calling my attention. I don’t want to be used because sometimes, infomercials are too good to be true,” he added

Pimentel, who just assumed his seat in the Senate in 2011, again recalled how Zubiri allegedly cheated which bumped him off the Top 12 in 2007 senatorial polls.

In August 2011, Zubiri resigned ahead of a decision concering Pimentel’s electoral protest making him the first sitting senator to do so.

But Zubiri returned attacks to Pimentel, who he claimed has not been really present in Mindanao.

Zubiri said 197,000 families are enrolled the provincial indigency health program has 19 municipal primary health centers providing primary health care that he initiated .

He added he has helped with the establishment of three tertiary  in Manolo Fortich, Malaybalay and Maramag, which all practice “No Balance Billing Program”.

“Now, my question to you Mr. Pimentel is: What have you done in Cagayan de Oro? Maybe none and maybe that’s the reason why I beat you there, in your hometown,” Zubiri saod.

“The people of CDO appreciate the programs that I have done.  And, if you are a truly representative of Mindanao,   you should spend more time in Mindanao,” he added.
