First up, I would like to welcome Sachin to our 40-plus club! I am now an established member here, so if he needs guidance, I am around. But knowing Sachin, he will find his way!
What's astonishing is that Sachin is as committed to the game today as he was when I first met him. He is the first to get ready for even optional practice, and that speaks volumes of the man's determination and passion even after all the accom-plishments over the years. You simply can't separate the two - cricket and Sachin.
It will be a nice birthday gift if we can pull off Wednesday's game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. I remember the birthday gift Sachin gave the nation in April 1998, when he celebrated his 25th birthday with a stunning hundred against Australia in the final at Sharjah. It is easily one of the best knocks in limited-overs cricket.
Coming back to Mumbai Indians' match, it is time we got our act together. We have had two poor games on the trot, but we can't afford to brood over these results. We must move on quickly and look ahead. One win will put us back on track.
