Can he deliver a knock-out win?
Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao believes bets running under Vice President Jejomar Binay’s senatorial slate would be able to solve the recurring power problem, hence his campaign support.
“I know these candidates. Their hearts are with the poor. They understand the needs of the poor and they can address the problems in Mindanao,” Pacquiao said.
“That’s why I am endorsing the candidates of UNA not only here (in General Santos City) but in the entire Philippines,” he added.
Pacman laments eight to 12 hours of blackout has been forcing businesses to shut down, leaving many people in Sarangani and neighboring towns jobless.
Pacquiao claims UNA bets’ "first-hand" experiences with power outages will remind the candidates to solve problems in Mindanao when they get elected.
Pacquiao is also convinced that UNA has the "genuine legislative agenda" to support the development plans for Mindanao.
"Kaya ini-endorse ko ang lahat ng kandidato ng UNA, hindi lang dito kundi sa buong Pilipinas," he said.
His endorsement comes after accompanying UNA’s ticket during their out-of-town campaign in his bailiwick.
Pacquiao, who is seeking reelection for the lone district in Sarangani province, added he will mobilize his local leaders to deliver solid votes for UNA.
On March 29, Pacquiao will also start campaigning for his wife Jinkee and his brother, who are running for vice governor in Sarangani province and congressman for the first district in South Cotabato, respectively.
