Washington, Feb. 7 (ANI): White House press secretary Jay Carney has rejected a report which stated that President Barack Obama will move out of the West Wing during renovations as soon as this summer.
RealClearPolitics reported last week that the US government has undertaken to complete a new executive office for the President at the south end of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB), adjacent to the West Wing, Politico reports.
The report had quoted sources, as saying that the construction of the new office has already begun, but unexpected problems in construction may change the plans for the eventual placement of the new office in the EEOB.
The report added that the new office, which will be an exact reproduction of the original Oval Office, is slated to be ready for occupancy later this year if Obama is ready to move and if design challenges are resolved.
However, Carney said reports about a replica Oval Office are false. He did not say if it was being considered. (ANI)
