US Navy creates history by successfully landing unmanned drone on aircraft carrier

Washington, July 11 (ANI): A fighter jet-sized unmanned aircraft has made a successful landing on a modern aircraft carrier for the first time in history.

The Fox News reports that X-47B experimental aircraft took off from Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland before approaching the USS George H.W. Bush, which is operating off the coast of Virginia.

According to the report, this drone piloted entirely by computer can provide round-the-clock surveillance and also has striking capability.

Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus said that the operational unmanned aircraft has given the opportunity to radically change the way combat power is delivered from the aircraft carriers. (ANI)
