US Congress less popular than cockroaches, lice and Donald Trump, finds survey

Washington, Jan. 9 (ANI): The US Congress is less popular than cockroaches, used car salesmen, colonoscopies, traffic jams and Donald Trump, but is better liked than the Kardashians and Lindsey Lohan, a new poll has found.

According to the survey by Public Policy Polling, after dragging the country to the brink of the fiscal cliff of massive tax hikes and budget cuts, Congress has a favorable rating of only nine percent, while 85 percent viewed it unfavorably.

The survey asked 830 registered voters to choose between Congress and 26 mostly unpopular people, places and things, in which Congress lost most of the matchups, the New York Daily News reports.

Colonoscopies beat Congress, 58-31 percent, while cockroaches finished on top, 45-43 percent.

But the good news for Congress is that Trump barely beat them at 44-42 percent. And Congress trounced the Kardashians at 49-36 percent, and edged Lohan at 45-41 percent, the poll found.

Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling, said that veryone knew Congress was unpopular, but the fact that voters like it even less than cockroaches, lice, and Genghis Khan really shows how far its esteem has fallen with Americans over the last few weeks, the report added. (ANI)
