Calcutta: A resurgent Prayag United Sports Club will be hoping to continue their winning momentum when they face a misfiring Salgaocar in an I-League match, at the Salt Lake Stadium, on Friday.
Both teams have had contrasting tales so far in the season that kicked off with the Federation Cup. While Salgaocar reached the semi-finals of the competition, United SC crashed out in the group stage itself. The I-League, though, has brought about a reversal of fortunes for both sides.
Owing to their four wins from six matches as of now, United SC are placed second in the table with 13 points, while Salgaocar find themselves lying low at No. 11 with just five points. Interestingly, the fate of both the coaches ' United SC's Eelco Schattorie and Salgaocar's David Booth ' have been completely opposite ever since they took charge of their respective teams.
Under Schattorie, United SC registered the second biggest win in I-League history, annihilating United Sikkim Football Club 10-1 together with their hard-earned victory over the challenge from Pailan Arrows.
