UAE group launches award for humanitarian work

Dubai, July 12 (IANS/WAM) The Watani Programme in the UAE has launched the Watani Emarat Humanitarian Work Award to honour Emirati citizens who show national identity and values.

The award ceremony will coincide with the UAE Humanitarian Work Day on the 19th day of Ramadan during the commemoration of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The award aims to document 10 humanitarian imprints in various fields every year.

"The Golden Humanitarian Personality" award will be presented to Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of the UAE's Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in recognition of her humanitarian role.
