Tuki reiterates commitment to develop interior areas of Arunachal

Nyapin, Jan. 29 (ANI): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today reiterated the commitment of his government to develop interior areas of the state at par with other progressive parts.

Tuki, who visited Nyapin, a remote administrative center in Kurung Kumey district today, said the government will deliver its best efforts to develop not only Nyapin sub-division, but every interior and remote administrative centers across the state for over-all development and welfare of each and every household.

The chief minister, who addressed a mammoth party rally here, announced Rs. two crore for infrastructure development of the Additional Deputy Commissioner's (ADC) office and Rs. one crore for construction of a community hall.

Responding to a memorandum submitted by Nyapin MLA Bamang Felix, Tuki assured to sanction funds to the tune of Rs. five crore for blacktopping of the Nyapin-Sangram road to make it all-weather worthy. In the first phase, he assured Rs. two crore for it by March next. Of the 38 km, 12 km of the said road has already been black-topped under the initiatives of the local legislator.

To another appeal for construction of a road from Nyapin to Jamin - the proposed district headquarters of the new district to be carved out of Kurung Kumey, the chief minister said it will be taken up on priority under NLCPR during the next financial year.

The road is proposed to connect Nyapin and Jamin via Laba, Panung, Leyang and Paji.

Asserting that his government is committed to exploit sporting potentials of local youths, Tuki announced a sum of Rs. one crore to develop the playground of the Government M E School at Sango.

During the INC rally, at least 24 anchal samiti members and one ZPM of the NCP joined the Congress in tandem with the local MLA, who had merged into INC along with his four NCP colleagues on October 8 last year.

Welcoming the merger, Pradesh Congress Committee President and Rajya Sabha MP Mukut Mithi said it was a homecoming ceremony that proves the credibility of INC in this frontier state.

Mithi appealed his party cadres to re-dedicate themselves in strengthening the party from the grass root level in every assembly segment of the state. Keeping an eye on the forthcoming panchayat, parliament and assembly elections, the party president said Congress will come back to power with a thumping majority and for which every party worker will have to gear up from now to ensure it.

Taking note of the importance of education, the Rajya Sabha MP assured to sanction Rs 15 lakhs for infrastructure development of the Nyapin Govt Higher Secondary School.

On the other hand, Lok Sabha MP Takam Sanjoy, who is also eyeing to come back for a second term from Arunachal West, announced another Rs 15 lakhs from his MPLAD for construction of a bridge over River Kidding that would connect upper and lower Nyapin.

The INC rally was also addressed by APCC Vice President Tatar Kipa, who was the Chief Patron of the rally, MLA Bamang Felix, prominent social activist and AICC member Tadar Yadir and District Congress Committee President Tarh Lejik.

Also present on the occasion were MLAs Tani Loffa, Techi Kaso and Markio Tado, Political Secretary to CM Bamang Tago, APYC President Tadar Niglar, leaders of frontier wings and others.

Earlier on Monday, a mega cultural evening was organized to commemorate the maiden INC rally, which was attended by Lok Sabha MP Takam Sanjoy as chief guest. At least 42 cultural troupes from villages across the assembly constituency performed all through the night to the awe of the visitors. Musical performances by young artistes of 'Nyishi Idol' fame added colour to the evening.

Sanjoy lauded the arrangements made by the local MLA and his supporters in a place far away from the mainstream. (ANI)
