Troubled boxing legend Ricky Hatton admits seeking counseling to battle suicidal thoughts

London, Oct 11 (ANI): Former British boxing star Ricky Hatton has revealed that he regularly battles against depression with the help of a psychiatrist because the problem almost leads him to suicidal tendencies.

The former world champion revealed in his new autobiography 'War and Peace: My Story' that although he had overcome his problems with alcohol and drugs, he still needs counseling to stop wanting to slit his wrists.

According to the Mirror, the troubled boxing legend said that he visits a psychiatrist once a month to stop wanting to kill himself, adding that if more people suffering from depression swallow their pride like he did and sought help, it would help a lot.

Hatton further said that it feels unbelievable for him to think that a man like him, who is considered, as a fighter and never backed down from any opponent, cries every night wanting to slit his wrists.

The autobiography also covers Hatton's rift with his parents over money, with the report saying that he has not spoken to them in three years. (ANI)
