When tipsy male Irish MP pulled female counterpart on lap during abortion debate

Washington, July 16 (ANI): A 44-year-old politician pulling a female member of Parliament directly onto his lap in the Irish Parliament has drawn criticism from all quarters.

Tom Barry, a representative of Ireland's center-right Fine Gael political party, during a debate over an abortion bill in the Irish Parliament had vigorously pulled Aine Collins, holding her awkwardly for a few moments.

According to Huffington Post, the incident was captured on video and had stirred up a controversy after it went viral.

Barry has admitted that he had been drinking before the session, the report added.

Barry also apologized to Collins and clarified that the act was absolutely a big mistake. (ANI)
