Thrashed Oz team trashed by columnist for India horror show

Sydney, Mar 25 (ANI): Sports columnist Peter Badel has thrashed Australian Test team's performance during their humiliating 4-0 whitewash against India, lambasting every player barring captain Michael Clarke and off spinner Nathan Lyon, for their horrific showings.

During his evaluation Badel gave 4.5 points rating (out of ten) to opener David Warner, while his opening partner, who had performed slightly better than him, was given a 5 points rating, the Herald Sun reports.

Phil Hughes, who had a dreadful start to the Test series, was given a 4 points rating, while vice-captain Shane Watson, who was suspended from the Mohali Test for a disciplinary breach, was given a 2 points rating for his horror show in the series.

Captain Clarke, who was Australia's leading run scorer in the series and their only centurion too despite playing one less Test match, was given the highest 7 point rating by the Australia journalist.

Meanwhile, wicket keeper Mathew Wade received a 4 rating despite missing out of the Mohali Test with a freak ankle injury.

The much derided all rounder Steven Smith, who got a chance to prove his worth in the Mohali Test after the famous sacking of four players, performed well in batting but failed to impress from his bowling and he was given a 5.5 points rating.

Another all rounder Moises Henriques was given a 4.5 points rating while fast bowler Mitchell Starc received a 4 points ratings.

Fast bowler Peter Siddle got an impressive rating points of 6.6 after impressing with both bowl and the bat in the last two Test matches.

Another quick James Pattinson was also lauded despite getting sacked from Mohali Test over disciplinary breach and he got 6 points rating.

Off spinner Lyon, who responded superbly to his harsh axing for the second Test, claiming a career-best 7-94 in the fourth Test and finishing as Australia's leading wicket-taker with 15, was a given a 7 points rating.

Meanwhile his fellow spinner Xavier Doherty was given a meager 3 points rating while wicket keeper Brad Haddin and fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, who played in a single game, were given 1 point rating. (ANI)
