Washington, July 11 (ANI): Teenage female characters are sexual fodder for TV series, especially comedies, an advocacy group has said.
According to the Parents Television Council study, the likelihood of a scene having sexual exploitation was higher when a teenage girl was there, the Washington Times reported.
More than 200 sitcom and drama episodes that aired during four weeks in 2011 and 2012 on the major broadcast networks were included in the study.
The study found that the chances were higher that the scene would be played for laughs; young female characters were likelier to be at the centre of sexually exploitive jokes than adult women, 43 percent as compared to 33 percent. (ANI)
