Tea producing nations to promote brew

Kolkata, Jan 23 (IANS) Founding member countries of newly-constituted International Tea Producers' Forum (ITPF) have agreed to work together to stimulate demands for tea globally, according to Tea Board of India.

India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Indonesia, Malawi and Rwanda have constituted the ITPF, headquartered at Colombo as a transitional arrangement.

The founding members have collectively agreed to promote consumption of the brew through campaigns, said a board statement issued here Wednesday.

The international forum would be a common platform to deliberate and evolve collective solutions on common problems affecting producers, it said.
