New Delhi, Jan 26 (ANI): Suneet Varma, who celebrated his 25 years in the fashion industry recently, has now launched a coffee table book- Suneet Varma - at the French embassy in New Delhi.
The French High Commissioner to India Mr.Francois Richier along with Law Minister Ashwani Kumar launched Suneet's first ever book on Fashion.
The 48-year-old fashion designer credited his author Nishat Fatima for motivating him to work on a book that talks about 25 people, who actually helped the designer to build his career.
"It's a real labourer of Love this book. Books can be informative, they can be inspiring, they can be, educative, they can be forward thinking, they can be sought of history of what you have done, where this industry is and here I really credit my author Nishat Fatima for stepping in. She with her great skill of writing, with her great body of work and her understanding and intelligence of Indian Fashion industry decided that we are going to do a book that was going to be relevant not only today but also 10 years from now," he said.
"So it was going to be not just about my work but the history of Indian Fashion. So to her credit we decided to pick out 25 people who I have worked with quiet closely over 25 years, who actually helped me, encouraged me and helped me build my career and a lot of those 25 people are present here today, so thank you very much for that," Varma added.
The book is a 296-pager, which provides an insight into the 25 years of Varma's journey, interspersed with iconic images and interviews with fashion veterans.
The event was attended by diplomats, politicians and the fashion fraternity, including super model Milind Soman, who remembered his association with the designer.
"For me it has been a beautiful relationship with him, Suneet is really like a brother to me. I am really proud of all that he has achieved and all that he has done. He has inspired s many people and just for that reason it's wonderful to be here tonight," the 47-year-old model said. (ANI)
