Most Stylish Cricketers Of IPL 2013

altCoco Chanel famously said, “Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” Staying true to legendary Coco, we at

Mensxp take our fashion-discerning eyes to IPL 6 and feature the top ten cricketers who take their style as seriously as their game.

Virat Kohli

India’s original cricketer style-icon, Virat Kohli likes dressing, but he plays down his style, and that’s what makes him oh-so-fashionable. Known to update his wardrobe with current trends, he’s very traditional when it comes to fashion choices. He knows what suits him, and plays to his strength. Known to stick to jeans and a black or white shirt for formal occasions, he is one cricketer who know what works for him, and makes sure he makes it his own!

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Considering that MS Dhoni practically lives in the spotlight, we’re thoroughly impressed with his willingness to experiment with his look. While he’s known to modify his hair liberally, his wardrobe, too, makes an impressive statement. Muted colours and clean cuts define his suits, and his t-shirts are usually dark and sombre. Either way, he carries off both looks with panache, which further enhances his personality.

Yuvraj Singh

You can rue this one-time bad boy of Indian cricket for his antics on and off the field, but you’ve got to salute his sense of style. Being trendy is one thing, carrying off your clothes with that X-factor is another, and that’s what Yuvraj exudes. Whether he chooses to wear a suit sans a tie, or the ever-reliable jeans and a t-shirt, his look epitomises attitude, and that, my dears, is as important a fashion statement as the threads one wears.

Rahul Dravid

The Wall successfully pulls-off a classic old-world look that’s complete with a sense of stoicism. A self-confessed jeans and t-shirt addict, we think he looks rather spiffy when he dresses for formal events. Jackets and suits may not be his first choice, but with his Clark Gable good looks and his air of touch-me-not combined with approachability, we think suits and jackets could be a terrific way to go as well.

Zaheer Khan

This is one man who knows fashion better than most. He doesn’t have a trademark look; however, he adjusts his clothes according to season and style. He’s as comfortable in suits as he is in jeans, and linen trousers. He knows his brands and sticks to what works best for him. When he dresses informally, he’s usually seen in Nike t-shirts and jackets teamed with jeans from Diesel. For formal occasions, he wears shirts and suits tailored by his specific tailor. But, whatever he wears, he wears with clean-cut style.

Irfan Pathan

This handsome cricketer doesn’t follow fashion, doesn’t believe in any trends and always wears comfortable clothes. This is blasphemous when it comes to fashion. But, considering how well he wears his t-shirts and trousers (not the most favourable pairing, we agree), he just about makes it to this list.

Chris Gayle

There are but a few people that can carry off diamond encrusted shades and still seem just about okay. Chris Gayle is one of them. This man loves his diamonds as much as he loves pulverising bowling attacks. Normally, we’d scoff at shades such as those, but hey, if you can carry wear them as well as Chris Gayle does, then this list is just the beginning of your fashion crown.

Glen Maxwell

This 24-year old Aussie all-rounder is IPL’s new million dollar man, and while his unconventional looks may not be the first thing you notice, it’s his sense of unassuming style that takes centre stage.

Kevin Pietersen

There’s a certain shade of blue that precedes Kevin Pietersen. Of course, there’s a blonde Mohawk and the close cropped hairdo, too. He brings a certain sense of cool and hot when he sports shorts and a t-shirt - his go-to ensemble while in India. He may not be your run-of-the-mill choice for the most fashionable list and his recent injuries have ruled him out of this season; however, the sheer charisma and flair that Kevin Pietersen brings to anything he wears, qualifies him for more than a mention.

Michael Clarke

Michael Clarke burst onto the international cricket arena and made his mark for his cricketing skills, his boyish good looks, and his sense of style. The boyish good looks have now given way to a semi-bald persona, but he is still one of the best dressed, most fashionable cricketers around. Whether he’s relaxing in a casual pair of jeans or he’s dressed to the nines for a formal event, his sleek sense of style is one that cannot be missed. Unfortunately, like Kevin Pietersen, he too has been ruled out of this season because of injuries.

Fashion is partly about what you wear and mostly about how you wear it. While India watches the IPL action on field, we’ll keep our scrutinising eyes open and keep you updated on all that you stylish people need to know... and more.
