Mumbai, June 3 (ANI): Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in-law of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan, and actor Vindoo Dara Singh have both been sent to judicial custody till June 14 for their respective roles in the Indian Premier League (IPL) betting and spot-fixing case.
The Mumbai Police has been interrogating them on allegations of betting in cricket matches after their arrests last month.
The BCCI had earlier announced that a three-member inquiry commission will investigate spot-fixing and betting allegations against arrested players and Meiyappan, who has been arrested by the police over charges of betting.
Three players of Rajasthan Royals team S. Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila as well as over a dozen of bookies have so far been arrested on suspicion of spot-fixing in IPL matches.
A Delhi court had granted Chavan conditional bail till June 6 so that he could attend his wedding on June 2 in Mumbai. (ANI)
