Single owner's 60's Volvo set to break 3 million miles world record journey

London, June 14 (ANI): A P1800S Volvo bought in 1966 is set to make a record by hitting three million miles of journey in autumn.

Irvin Gordon, 70, a retired teacher and a very careful owner of the Volvo bought the car for 2,650 pounds and said it never broke down since, reports Mirror.

According to the report, the car has had 857 oil changes, 30 new drive belts, 150 fresh points and spark plugs and 120 bottles of transmission liquid.

Gordon who is addicted to driving miles in the Volvo, which was immortalized in the popular series the 'Saint', said that driving is his 'drug of choice' and has clocked up to average of 63,000 miles a year but sometimes clocks up to 1,00,000.

According to the report, Gordon has held the world record for the highest mileage since passing the 1.6 million mile mark in 2002.

Divorced Gordon has planned the three million miles of journey in Alaska and said that he plans to sell his Volvo for a dollar a mile as it has been driven only in weekends and is practically new, the report added. (ANI)
