Siddle tells Jackson Bird to treat Test debut as 'another day at office'

Sydney, Dec. 23 (ANI): Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle has offered some simple advice to his new pace partner Jackson Bird - 'just be patient'.

Siddle said that that's the way to take wickets at the great stadium, as he prepared to lead Australia's ever-changing attack into the Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka.

According to news.com.au, Bird, 26, who is expected to make his Test debut while young left-armer Mitchell Starc is rested, was described by Siddle as 'very well-suited to the MCG' after bagging 14 wickets at 12, including a career-best 5-35, in two Sheffield Shield matches there.Siddle has also told Bird to treat the biggest day on the cricket calendar as another day at the office.

He said that he expected a 'pretty good' wicket with a bit of bounce and 'as it gets drier the match changes focus', the report added. (ANI)
