Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil sworn in as Sikkim's new governor

Gangtok, July 21 (ANI): Veteran parliamentarian Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil has been sworn in as the new Governor of Sikkim.

e Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court, Justice Pius C Kuriakose administered the oath of office and secrecy in a function held in Gangtok on Saturday.

A former Indian Administrative Service officer, Patil has represented Maharashtra's Satara in the Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament.

He replaces incumbent Balmiki Prasad Singh. The Union State Minister, Tariq Anwar, the Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling and other state dignitaries were among those who attended the function. (ANI)
