Sydney, Oct 23 (ANI): Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh has reportedly come into contention for Australia's last Test batting place for the winter Ashes series with an impressive century for Western Australia (WA) in the ongoing domestic Ryobi Cup tournament.
The talented but inconsistent and injury-prone left-hander completed a fine personal Ryobi Cup campaign by scoring 119 from 129 balls, more than half WA's total of 212.
According to News.com.au, Marsh has been talked about since the end of Australia's disastrous 3-0 Ashes loss and has strong support from the team hierarchy.
While Australia A will be taking on England from November 6-9, Marsh will play for Western Australia against South Australia at the WACA Ground and stand-in captain George Bailey will lead Tasmania against Queensland at Allan Border Field, the report added. (ANI)
