Dec. 29: Actress Scarlett Johansson has lamented being "super-sexualised" at aged 18, after her "bombshell" figure was compared with Marilyn Monroe.
The 27-year-old said her "curvy" figure ran in her family, attracting extra attention when she dressed up for film premieres as a result.
The actress, who divorced actor Ryan Reynolds in 2010, has now spoken of the focus on her body from when she was just a teenager, saying she had been called a "bombshell".
Johansson, known for her work in Lost in Translation, Vicki, Cristina, Barcelona, and The Avengers, said: "I think any woman who is curvy and wears a gown to an event is, like, super-sexualised.
"I mean, at the time I was 18, 19. I was young.
"I've always been curvy. It runs in the family. Throw on an evening frock and it's like all of a sudden you have boobs and everyone is like: 'bombshell!' Instantly it was: 'The new Marilyn'."
In a revealing interview with Elle magazine, she also spoke of her romantic life and plans for the future.
Saying that marriage was no longer important to her, she added she does not plan to have children "any time soon".
"It's not important to me," she said. "It has no relevance to me right now. I'm not having kids anytime soon, I'm in a nice relationship."
"I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It's hard to put into words. To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn't mean you have to be married." She added that she "never" thought about marriage unless she was asked about it.
