Karachi, Apr 17 (ANI): Pakistan Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez has expressed his satisfaction with the team's preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy, saying that they had received practice at the domestic President's Cup One-Day Tournament.
Hafeez also added that he hoped that the upcoming training camp in Abbottabad will help the national team prepare well for the mega-tournament to be held in England, the Express Tribune reports.
Terming the timing of the President's Cup Tournament as important, Hafeez said that he was satisfied at the preparation as all the probables for the final lineup for the Champions Trophy had received useful match practice in the domestic game.
According to the senior all-rounder, every probable had played at least four matches in the tournament, adding that although the players did not get similar conditions like England, the domestic one-day tournament has given them valuable experience and more chances to manage and get used to the changes in one-day rules.
Hoping that the team will be completely ready for the eight-nation tournament after the training camp in Abbottabad next month, Hafeez said that he expected that the camp will have appropriate tracks and conditions in Abbottabad which will be crucial for their preparations.
Pakistan is placed in Group B in the Champions Trophy, starting from June 7, with world champions India, South Africa and West Indies, whereas Group A comprises of Australia, England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, the report added. (ANI)
