Sarkozy's ex-wife says pals were ready to wed him after divorce for 'power'

London, Oct 4 (ANI): Cecilia Attias, Nicolas Sarkozy's former wife, has claimed that her friends had queued up to marry him after the breakdown of their marriage.

In her upcoming tell-all biography, Attias has explained that her friends wanted to tie the knot with the former President of France because they believed that by marrying him they would get "wealth and power," the Independent reported.

The former first lady, 53, has also complained in the book, titled 'Une envie de verite' (A desire for the truth), that she left Sarkozy shortly after his 2007 election "because he had sort of forgotten her".
