Safi Darashah Cricket: Krishna Das grabs eight for Assam

Mysore, July 25 (IANS) Former India Under-19 seamer Krishna Das took eight for 32 to help Assam grab a 74-run first innings lead over Baroda and extend the advantage by making 178 for 8 at stumps on the third day in the Safi Darashah All-India cricket tournament, here Thursday.

Das' heroics saw Baroda collapse to 148 with Aditya Wadhmode (91) being the main scorer in reply to Assam's 222.

Andhra, courtesy centuries by D.B. Prashanth (123) and Sriram (124), were 369 for six after 100 overs in their first innings against KSCA Secretary's XI who had made 479 for nine declared.

In Bangalore, a century by Vineet Saxena (103) saw Rajasthan make 374 in response to Jharkhand's first innings total of 298. In their second essay, Jharkhand were struggling at 205 for six.

Cricket Association of Bengal moved into a strong position following centuries by Rohan Banerjee (134) and Wriddhiman Saha (100 batting) as they ended the third day on 387 for six against Tripura CA who earlier were dismissed for 299, just 60 runs short in the first innings.

K.C. Avinash (133) and Shishir Bhavani (106 not out) struck centuries as KSCA President's XI made 428 for eight for a first innings lead of 40 against Kerala who in their second knock were 141 for two at stumps.
