London, Sept 3 (ANI): Former American heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison, who gained fame for his role in the Sylvester Stallone-starrer Rocky V, has died at the age of 44.
According to The Guardian, although the cause of death was not disclosed, Morrison had tested positive for HIV in 1996.
Morrison's former manager and longtime friend Tony Holden said that the boxer died on Sunday night at a hospital in Nebraska, US.
In 1993, Morrison, who was born in Arkansas and grew up in Oklahoma, beat compatriot George Foreman to win the World Boxing Organization heavyweight title, with the report adding that he lost to former British-Canadian boxer Lennox Lewis in 1995. (ANI)
