Rhiti Sports has issued a statement saying that Indian captain MS Dhoni doesn’t hold a stake in the company. The company has claimed that Dhoni held no shares of the company as of April 26 and that it had transferred the shares on March 22 only towards an outstanding amount it owed the cricketer.
The company further clarified that it cleared the payment in April 2013 following which the shares were transferred back to the company. However, documentation in possession of a TV channel indicates that shares were transferred to Dhoni on May 22.
This is following a report in Economic Times that alleged that the Indian captain owned a 15 percent stake in the Sports Management company, which was tantamount to a conflict of interest.
