Mumbai, April 14 -- While the Sunrisers Hyderabad were locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in a T20 clash in Kolkata on Sunday, their opener Shikhar Dhawan, out with a finger injury, indulged in a battle of another kind with CSK' Suresh Raina. Dhawan and Raina, known for their fondness for sports cars and bikes, faced off in a sailing race off the coast of Mumbai.
A mid-afternoon stroll down the famous stretch around the Gateway of India is enough to bring the romantic out of anyone.
The boats with their sails have a charm that attracts many aficionados to set sail and, literally, let the wind in the hair.
On Sunday, it was the duo, which made their way to the fabled shores of the Apollo Bandar.
Taking a break from the T20 league, away from the maximums and free-hits, the duo engaged in a bit of jibbing and rigging, terms commonly used in the sport of sailing.
In the city on a promotional event, Raina and Dhawan reveled in the sailing race, assisted by the experts on board.
They appeared to be matching each other knot for knot in the 800-metre race, before Dhawan's team edged past in the end to claim some bragging rights for the India dressing room in the future.
The exciting result even forced a sailing enthusiast from England to joke, "Chennai's last ball-win fatigue could have cost Raina the win and with it the bragging rights in the India team."
That the India teammates enjoyed their time in the Arabian Sea is not surprising because of their affection for the mean machines.
While Dhawan, is known to light-up the streets of Delhi on his high-voltage bike, Raina too has indulged himself with a brand new limited-edition imported car.
Looking at their collective joy on setting sail, it won't be a surprise if they splurge on fancy sailboats with their T20 riches!
