Proteas batsmen need to have `better starts` to improve ODI show against Pak, admits Duminy

Johannesburg, Nov 5 (ANI): South African batsman Jean-Paul Duminy has admitted that he and the other batsmen in his team need to have better starts if they want to correct and improve their batting performances in the current ODI series against Pakistan

Duminy has not come in later than the second over in both matches and admits the build-up of pressure from the early wickets has played a role in the disappointing batting collapses.

According to Sport24, Duminy said they need to make sure that they have their game plans in place and take the responsibility to push on to get bigger scores like 80s and 100s, instead of just getting to 20s and 30s and then going out, adding that losing wickets early upfront lead to a player trying to catch up in the game from a batting perspective.

Duminy further said that the team needs to back the skills that they have as they done in the past and need to commit to their strategies and play with intent if they want to counter the attack of Pakistan's spin trio of Saeed Ajmal, Mohammed Hafeez and Shahid Afridi. (ANI)
