London, Jan 27 (ANI): Victoria Beckham is in the process of buying a 9,000 sq ft store in Knightsbridge, as she plans to turn it into her boutique.
The former Spice Girl has chosen the location which is just a stone's throw from the luxury department store Harrods in Knightsbridge, the Daily Star reported.
The 38-year-old designer also appears to have been inspired by the Sunday night TV drama 'Mr Selfridge', as she plans to make the shopping experience entertaining in its own right - just like the American entrepreneur Harry Selfridge did when he launched Selfridges in Oxford Street in 1909.
An insider close to the project said that Victoria is already designing what it will look like inside.
She has short-listed two top interior designers and has been interviewing them to decide which one to hire, the source said.
"She is really excited and ambitious about the whole project. It's a dream come true for her to be opening her own fashion store in London," the source added.
The mum-of-four is keeping the exact location of the shop secret but it is known to be within a few hundred yards of Harrods.
The pop star-turned- fashion designer is said to have taken inspiration from the upmarket Prada store in Los Angeles which has a glass floor with mannequins underneath.
Victoria has told the interior designers she wants lots of glass, crystal and mirrors in her shop.
Also, she doesn't want people to just walk in from the street - she wants them to make an appointment before turning up.
"Victoria's big idea is to have a style bar where her customers can get some expert advice and tips from her team of fashion designers," the source said.
Separate to that will be a champagne bar where the customers can relax and unwind and not feel stressed by shopping. (ANI)
