New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) A sunny day here Thursday was followed by a chilly evening as the maximum temperature settled at 21.9 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season. Friday is likely to see the same weather.
"There will be shallow fog in the morning tomorrow (Friday) but the afternoon would be clear and sunny," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 23 and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively, the Met Office said.
Thursday morning was nippy with the minimum temperature settling a notch below average at 7.1 degrees Celsius.
The fog disrupted train movement.
"The heavy backlog of trains led to delays and rescheduling because of fog in Delhi and other northern regions. Thirteen trains were delayed, 12 were cancelled and five rescheduled due to fog," a Northern Railway spokesperson told IANS.
