London, Aug 8 (ANI): Children who started playing an impromptu cricket match behind the stands at the Old Trafford when rain suspended the Ashes Test play on Monday were reportedly ordered to stop for 'health and safety' reasons.
According to the Daily Express, young fans began an impromptu game when rain stopped play during the Ashes match between England and Australia on Monday at Manchester.
However, the stadium stewards intervened and ordered them to stop and even removed an adult from the scene, saying that it was 'unfair' for a grown-up to bowl at a child.
According to an onlooker, people could not believe that stewards at a cricket ground would stop a game of cricket, adding that it seems 'daft' that cricket is deemed dangerous at a cricket ground.
However, the report added that an official later told the stewards to turn a blind eye and let the children play on. (ANI)
