Calcutta: The carnage on Day III of the ongoing India versus England Test at the Wankhede seems to have disturbed plans at the Eden.
So far, the CAB officials were quite serious about the BCCI directive of preparing a turner at the Eden for the third Test, which gets underway from December 5. But will they stick to their plans post-Wankhede?
Daljit Singh, the BCCI pitch and grounds committee chairman, visited the Eden on Sunday for a 'routine' inspection. "Every team would like to enjoy home advantage... So, it will be there at the Eden too," Daljit said.
According to sources, Daljit requested curator Prabir Mukherjee and other groundsmen to produce a dry turning track.
However, when contacted, curator Mukherjee categorically mentioned that the pitch would be watered. "All I can say at the moment is that it will definitely be watered," he said.
The CAB, however, has washed its hands off, saying that Daljit and Mukherjee will deal with the matter.
