Pistorius whisked away from court after case adjourned to Aug 19

Johannesburg, June 4 (ANI): Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius had been reportedly whisked away by his bodyguards and the South African police force after his case for the alleged murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was postponed to August 19.

The Blade Ruuner's bodyguards and more than 10 police officers helped him out of the building as Pistorius was whisked away in a Silver Fortuner, which had been idling on the street adjacent to the court entrance, News24 reports.

In a session of less than 20 minutes, acting Magistrate Daniel Thulare heard that the prosecution and defence had agreed to a postponement for further investigation.

According to Thulare, who had expressed concern over media attention on the case, the State needed to take care how information related to the case came into the public domain, referring to the leaked pictures of the bloodied bathroom, so that it did not have a 'negative impact on the South African judicial system or scandalise it'.

Pistorius was released on the same amended bail conditions and warned to comply with them, the report added. (ANI)
