Pakistani cricket stars felicitate Nawaz Sharif on victory

Islamabad, May 13 (ANI): Pakistani cricket stars welcomed the victory of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif in the general elections and hoped he, being a sportsman himself, will play an active role in bringing international sports back to Pakistan in a short span of time.

The Nation quoted Pakistan's top spinner Saeed Ajmal as saying that Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan are true sportsmen and they can play a major role in taking back Pakistan to same sporting heights which it was once.

Ajmal said he is hopeful that Sharif will use his good offices in convincing international teams to tour Pakistan and end sporting isolation of this sports loving nation.

Pacer Junaid Khan said Sharif has greater respect across the worldwide and therefore he could convince other nations to visit Pakistan and help resume international sports in the country.

Former Test player Sarfaraz Nawaz said Sharif should take notice of the PCB fake elections and should appoint the right person for this high-profile office. (ANI)
