Pak T20 skipper Hafeez says is 'unfazed' by growing competition from 'youngsters'

Karachi, Oct 23 (ANI): Pakistan Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez has said that he is unfazed by the growing competition following remarkable performances from young openers Khurram Manzoor and debutant Shan Masood in the first Test against South Africa and is confident of making a Test return.

Hafeez, who has 34 Test caps, suffered a setback with his axing from the Test squad for the ongoing series against South Africa.

However, the Express Tribune reports that Hafeez said the snub from Tests and the growing competition from youngsters will not affect his place in the team for the ODIs and Twenty20s, adding that he is happy that Pakistan's victory against the best team in the world was due to the performance of these players.

But Hafeez admitted that it is a challenge for him to make a Test comeback, adding that he will try to perform at the highest level and will avail the opportunity to play domestic four-day matches to regain his place in the team.

The experienced all-rounder also said the Test result in Abu Dhabi will boost the team's confidence ahead of the ODIs and hopes that Pakistan will win the series against South Africa 2-0. (ANI)
