Pak SC verdict on PM's arrest, Qadri's march linked: Asma Jahangir

Karachi, Jan. 16 (ANI): Pakistani rights activist and former president of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir has said that the timing of Supreme Court's verdict to arrest Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in rental power scam and the 'Million March' of Minhajul Quran International (MQI) chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri is not a coincidence.

She alleged the military establishment and Supreme Court's Chief Justice have started a 'game' against the democratic system, reports The Nation.

Jahangir said the Supreme Court Bar and other lawyers' associations would meet on Wednesday and evolve a strategy against the Supreme Court's verdict of the Prime Minister's arrest.

She said instability has been created through the court's verdict, which is not in the interest of the country.

She said Qadri's march and the Supreme Court verdict were planned. She said that director of Tahirul Qadri's long march were the same 'elements', who formed IJI in past.(ANI)
