Karachi, Apr 19 (ANI): Pakistani cricketers have expressed their annoyance at the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) delay in announcing the new central contract list despite the passage of almost four months since the former contracts expired at the end of 2012.
The players worried over the long wait are mainly the ones that have not been a part of the national team in most of the international assignments this year or were a part of the stipend category last time around, the Express Tribune reports.
Expressing concern over the matter, a player said that delay is causing curiosity on the expected changes, adding that it is also distracting their domestic performances.
Another player said although the PCB stopped them from playing in the Bangladesh league saying that it will compensate them for their loss, it has taken no action till now which has added to their woes.
The report further said that the PCB also delayed announcing the central contracts last year with the list being finalised in May.
As many as 42 cricketers were included in the board's payroll in 2012 that included 21 players from the stipend category mostly comprising upcoming talent, the report added. (ANI)
