Pak cricket recommends 40 players for new contract list

Karachi, Apr 19 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the names of 40 players have been recommended by the selection committee for this years' central contract list, according to an official.

This comes in the heels of players' annoyance over PCB's delay in announcing the new central contract list despite the passage of almost four months since the former contracts expired at the end of 2012, the Express Tribune reports.

The official further said that the new list will be finalised by the panel for central contracts headed by PCB's Director General Javed Miandad.

According to another PCB official, the performance of the Pakistani players in the recent tour in South Africa will play a major role in any promotion or demotion of any player, although he added that so far a major change is yet to be made. (ANI)
